Ben, scofflaw is one who ignores the law. Usually, the word is used as a minor offense like ignores the law (like the picture) or runs a stop sign, things like that. ( Valenciason might have a stricter or looser view on the word)

Ben, sometimes i use to think that you don´t like Spain. I remember your post about The 10 MOST Annoying Things about Spain. Then you tried to fix it, but i really think that you are not happy here. What do you think?
Sorry about my english, it´s not so good.

@Alx: Like Ben, I live in Madrid because I love it here. However, we don’t walk around in rose tinted spectacles. There are inconsistancies that amuse us, confuse us and sometimes really annoy us. Although it would seem that because we were not born here, we can’t talk about them. They are all part of life’s rich tapestry and the pros far outweigh the cons. Allow us the privilage of commenting on all things in what is now our homeland too.

I can understand what you say, but when I read something about Ben sometimes I feel bad, it´s like: look at this spanish people, they are stupid. I´m sure that he does not what to make feel like this, but…

Alx, See how the thread is tagged: “Quirky, Fun”. Ben is not criticising, just pointing out something that he saw as odd. And even you would regard parking on a crossing as not the best example of behviour. Tonight I watched a driver drive the wrong way along a one way street. He met another car, yet he was adament the other driver should give way. And the other driver did - by reversing 100m against the designated direction. It didn’t annoy me. I just shook my head in disbelief and told myself: remember, you are in Spain.
