Found this excellent pad for our stay, using the roof terrace every night to soak up the sights over the neighbourhoos. It was on calle san bernardo, just a bit up from plaza dos de mayo. we paid 110 Euro per night. Even tho plenty told us not to go to madrid in august, i appreciated the quieter, less touristy vibe during the day and the more local nightlife by night. By day it has a typical Spanish appearance of 'inspired neglect'. At night the terrazas are amazing - even in April as many who attended GME 2007 will remember.
