Not yet, but no doubt there are lots of people out there after laptops! I’m not sure I would sit outside in some of Madrid’s plaza’s with mine…

Nice recommendation.

Has anyone heard of people having issues with carrying a laptop around the city? I mean in terms of theft.

Don’t forget that the recently reformed square of Santo Domingo (where the carpark used to be) is now the only square in the city that has free wifi access to Internet. Haven’t tried it yet but I saw a photo in the paper the other day of happy laptoppers sitting in the open air.

And it’s free if you’re consuming something there?

You can get totally free WiFi (thanks to the Ayuntamiento) in the Plaza de Santo Domingo, which is near Callao, Sol and Opera. The only hitch is that there’s practically no shade in the newly renovated plaza!
